Membership Information & Benefits

UNA-USA is an umbrella organization serving many constituencies: community-based members and activists, affiliated organizations, business leaders, educators, and academic and foreign policy specialists. It has several programs all aimed at public education about the United Nations and mobilization of public opinion to support the UN and constructive US leadership in it.

UNA-USA's mission is to create an informed and active constituency in the United States, committed to a stronger United Nations and constructive US leadership in an effective UN. Our members are essential to implementing this vision. A growing and diversified membership shows opinion-shapers and decision-makers that Americans care about using the United Nations to address global issues and that they care about the US role in the organization. A growing and diversified membership signifies that as the 21st century opens, Americans understand that international cooperation through an effective United
Nations is a necessity, not an option.

Whether you're a professional, student, NGO or business, as a member of UNA-USA, you'll perform a unique and valuable role as a community activist. UNA-USA volunteers educate their communities; mobilize support for the UN and US leadership; serve as liaisons with the media, educators, and public officials in their states and communities; and provide public visibility at the community level. Our members are a source of new leadership, new ideas, and new energy.
